Seeing baby chicks emerging from their shells has been a daily part of visits to the Museum since 1954. Today, the Hatchery is part of our Genetics exhibit, and the chicks are also part of a program that helps to preserve rare chicken breeds. Watch as this time-lapse video shows just how hard these little chicks are working to get themselves free and take their first steps.
