This is a past event.
This year's Meet Her! event presents a clean water activist.
Most well-known as "Little Miss Flint," Mari Copeny will be speaking at Griffin MSI! At the age of 8, Mari wrote to President Obama challenging him to visit Flint, Michigan, drawing the country's attention to Flint's water crisis. Mari is now 16 and continues to fight for water justice, partnering with the water company Hydroviv to donate and distribute lead removal filters to families and youth-serving organizations. Come hear her STEM story!
Limited seating is subject to availability. Mari's presentation begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Auditorium (Main Level 2, West Pavilion) followed by a Q&A session.
The Meet Her! event with Mari Copeny is happening in conjunction with the Black Creativity Career Showcase, where kids and families can talk with African American artists, scientists and engineers about innovative work happening right here in our city.
These February 24 events are included in Museum Entry.
