A limited number of strollers are available to rent in the Entry Hall for a $3 charge ($5 for double strollers). An photo ID is required for the rental, and strollers are subject to availability. Guests may bring their own strollers but for the safety of our guests and their children, may not bring wagons.

A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available in the Entry Hall. (Elevators and ramps serve all public areas within the building.) A photo ID is required for complimentary use of a wheelchair.

Guests may bring their own wheelchairs. For the safety of our guests and their children, wagons are not permitted.

The Museum is committed to providing a quality experience for all our guests. Please read our Accessibility page for more specifics.

MSI welcomes nursing mothers, who may nurse their babies in any public space in the Museum. MSI also has a nursing room in the Idea Factory exhibit on Lower Level 1. 

Elevators are located throughout the Museum to accommodate our guests. Please follow physical distancing procedures and limit their use to one family or group.

Coat Check is available in the Entry Hall. The cost is $3 per item. There are no lockers available. The Museum Coat Check does not accept the following items: any electronic devices including but not limited to laptop computers and cell phones; food or drinks of any kind; personal strollers; fur coats; bicycles and Segways. Although our Coat Check is staffed during all open hours, any and all items are checked at the owner's own risk. The Museum is not responsible for loss or damage to stored property. Lost and Found is located in the Entry Hall. You can inquire about a lost item at coatcheck@msichicago.org or (773) 753-6862. Items are kept in Lost and Found for 60 days after they are turned in.

An ATM is located in the Entry Hall by Guest Services.

There are accessible toilet stalls in all of our restrooms. Restrooms are located in the following areas:

• Between the Brain Food Cafe and Farm Tech
  (All-gender restrooms are available here)
• Henry Crown Space Center
• U-505 Submarine exhibit

Main Level 2

• Near Yesterday's Main Street and the Coal Mine

Balcony Level 3

• Yellow Stairs 
  (An all-gender restroom is available here)

First Aid can be requested by alerting a uniformed Museum staff member.
