Professional Development Workshops
The Museum's Institute for Quality Science Teaching offers a variety of workshops throughout the school year that help middle-grades educators teach science with greater confidence and passion. We are not taking applicaitons for workshops at this time, but check back to see new sessions as they are scheduled.
Our workshops teach how to do inquiry-based and hands-on/minds-on science and are offered at no cost. Many of our workshops are aligned with CPS Science Scope and Sequence and Illinois Learning Standards. You'll also receive curriculum, materials and CPDUs.
Our yearlong professional development workshop series meets six times over the course of a school year. Teaches are eligible to earn six graduate credits from the Illinois Institute of Technology. The 2009-10 sessions are full; check back in late summer 2010 for details about our next sessions.
