Planning an Event
Whether you are hosting a corporate cocktail reception throughout the entire museum, a holiday dinner in our Rotunda space, a wedding reception in the Lagoon area, a summer picnic on the front lawn, our on-site event planners will work with you on every detail.
The Kid in You
Have you ever referred to your childhood as "the good old days"? Or perhaps you still consider yourself a child at heart. Either way, the Museum of Science and Industry is the perfect place for bringing out the kid in all of us! Plan your next special event around the Museum's interactive and inspiring exhibits. From Toymaker 3000 to Robots Like Us, your guests are sure to find an element of their childhood somewhere in there! Our on-site special events staff, Sodexho USA, will create a high-energy environment for you and your guests. Utilizing dynamic characters melded with thematic food and beverage, entertainment, décor and a competition-inspired color palette, you will discover everything from wizards and goddesses to robots, superheroes and Japanimation personalities - all of whom will greet your guests with a modern touch!
Upon entering the Great Hall your guests will be greeted by Einstein the Robot. Your guests will be surprised when they learn that he is programmed with guest and company information! Einstein will roam the floor and mingle with your guests as they enjoy our signature cocktail the "pong-tini" while also enjoying delicious bite size hors d'oeuvres and food stations that take you back to your childhood days. Guests will hear tunes from a wonderful, synthesized keyboard player throughout the duration of cocktails. Your official greeter for the evening, "Paper Mario" will lead your guests up to the Museum's impressive Rotunda space which will be transformed into an eye-popping video game kaleidoscope!
A video game archway will welcome your guests to the Museum of Science and Industry! Various enormous depictions of game accessories, such as industrial joysticks, multihued PlayStation boxes, and hi-tech Game Boys, reach toward the ceiling, while drawing your visitor's eyes upwards into the contemporary world of video games. This arch will have dramatic up-lighting in brilliant hues and customized vinyl signage in a futuristic font that will welcome your guests with their corporate name and logo.
This event space will be striking as the magnificence of video game culture comes alive when your guests enter. Spandex fantasy structures will be streaming from the ceiling, hugging the walls, adorning the buffets and floating along the perimeter of the room. Alternating hues of bright fuchsia, vivid yellow, and brilliant orange will combine with sleek ebony to create abstract spandex shapes and reveal the sensation of being alive in a real video game.
